Death of a hired man

I don't see any direct connection to a time in history within the poem. The poem was first published in Robert Frost’s collection North of Boston in 1914. That puts it in the era of WW1 but I don't think the poem and the war are connected.

Thats what i told my teacher but she disagreed with wwi being connected towards the poem
