The Perks of Being a Wallflower

What is the theme of this book?

I don't know what the theme is, aren't there like a lot?

The theme of any work is the main idea, what one is supposed to learn from having studied this work. One possible theme would be that one should participate in life rather than run from it, rather than being a wallflower. Life can pass one by and there are many missed opportunities if one does not engage life.
