Kino sees his infant son Coyotito learning to read and getting an education. He sees Juana and himself with new clothes. He also sees a proper wedding for both himself and his wife.

He sees many Western things that he hand never considered before because of financial means. For example a Christian marriage, a feelt hat, and a sailor outfit. Suggesting he assossiates riches with American and European cultures instead of his own.
