The pearl

Kino and Juana lived comfortably, their needs were met, and they were happy. They heard the friendly songs of the family and even though they were poor, they were content. After the discovery of the pearl, their lived changed completely. The friends and neighbors changed, people who'd never had anything to do with them suddenly intruded into their lives, they became prey for robbers, their lives were constantly in danger, and in the end.... they had nothing.
