Is it credible that a bullet aimed in the dark at a baby's whimper should find its mark?

I wouldn't think it credible unless the shooter was an expert marksman. None-the-less, trackers were trained to follow by using sight, sound, and signs. Thus, I'd have to say it was probable they he could hot his mark by sound in the dark.
