The Pearl

Do you think he could become part of the town again in the future? Why or why not?

This is a chapter 5 question, and I am not sure how to answer. The first half of the question is "What three major events in Chapter Five break Kino's ties with the town and make him an outsider?" My answer was that he killed a man, the hole in his canoe, and his house burning down. Thanks for anyone who responds!

I think Kino could become part of the town again because no longer has his pearl and is poor like the rest of them. Kino alienated his community by trying to transcend his station in life. Now that he has lost everything, people might accept him again.
