Young people from all backgrounds can easily identify with the teenage angst and confusion portrayed in the pages of this novel. Teenagers don't really change.... styles change, educational curriculum changes, famililial circumstances are varied, and financial problems persist, and technology makes new discoveries everyday. None-the-less, the make-up of a teenager really doesn't change, and thus, the novel continues to appeal.
