Why does Ponyboy feel animosity towards his older brother?

Ponyboy and Darry don't get along because since their parents' deaths, he's had to take on a fatherly role in the family. Darry is responsible for his younger brothers, and as a result, Ponyboy resents the change. He misses his older brother, and he resents the authority figure.
