The Soc that becomes a spy for the greasers is Sherri "Cherry" Valance. I'm not at all surprised, as Cherry hates fighting and wants to prevent anymore deaths from occurring. Her boyfriend was a Soc, and he was killed. Cherry sees the fighting as senseless, and she will do whatever it takes to see it end.
