what does two bit mean when he says "you know, the only thing that keeps Darry from being a Soc is us"?

He means that if Darry wasn't so busy taking care of them and trying to keep them out of trouble he's probably be a Soc himself.

I have an answer and a question. What chapter is this quote in? I think that Two Bit means that if Darrel had more money, and time, he would qualify a soc.
