Cherry first meets Dally at the drive in theatre. Ponyboy and Johnny are with the girls and getting along quite well. Dally shows up and is quite rude. Dally's coments are full of stereotypes and sexual inuendo. I thnk that it isn't so much that she rejects Dally rather than the way she does it. Cherry is firm and clear. She enjoys Ponyboy's company but is offended by Dally's advances.
