How does Ponyboy blaming Darry (loving father figure) and Johnny not blaming his abusive parents reflect their view of responsibility for things in life?

Ponyboy is looking for a scapegoat..... looking to blame someone else for his problems. He used to being taken care of, and Darry is the easiest person to blame. Johnny, however, had been functioning alone for a long time. His parents were not people he could rely on, thus, he knew he had to rely on himself.
