How do Ponyboy’s relationship with Darry and Sodapop different?

Ponyboy is closer to Soda because he friendly, funny, and he enjoys his company. Soda understands him, and he has no hesitations about confiding in him.

Darry, however, is the authority figure. Because he took on responsibility for his brothers after their parents' deaths, Darry is the strict one..... the disciplinarian. Ponyboy is too concerned with his own situation to realize the sacrifices that Darry made to keep the family together.
