The Outsiders

How do Johnny's Prior experiences with the Socs affect his behavior in the park? Does the fact that he was defending his friends life justify his actions? Why or why not?

Johnny was beat up pretty badly by the Socs before the park incident. He was aware that they really could have killed Pony in that fountain. Johnny was entitled to defend his friend. The emotional wounds Johnny felt were still raw. He truly feared for his friend's life.
