It's been awhile since I was Ponyboy's age or your own. I would assume that like Ponyboy, you have problems in school, friendships, conflicts and family situations. Money problems, deaths in the family, divorce..... drinking; these are all universal problems. Think about your life, or even the lives of your friends and compare your lives to the characters in the novel.
