Are you referring to Nothing Gold can Stay?

Yes

Ponyboy has lost a lot. He especially feels the loss of his parents. Johnny loved his parents: they were his gold. Unfortunately all truly valuable things, as the poem indicates, eventually fade away and die. His parents died in an auto accident.
