Bob is entitled and wealthy. His parents give him what he wants but Bob struggles for boundaries. He wants his parents to parent him and not enable him. This is part of the reason Bob acts out on Greasers. Bob wants to get in trouble, he wants to be noticed.

Bob Sheldon was Cherry’s boyfriend. He was dark-haired, and a member of the Socs. Bob's character beats Johnny up before the novel opens, wears a set of brass knuckles, and is spoiled rotten. He never had any discipline from his parents, and they allowed him to do as he wished.
