A) Explain why Darry could have been a Soc. B) Why do you think that Darry is instead a greaser?

Darry is good looking, athletic, and intelligent. He could have gone to college on a football scholarship. This might have elevated him to Soc status. After their parents died, Darry had to become guardian of the family and his college dreams faded away. I don't think Darry would have wanted to be a sock anyway.
