The boy in this story is always losing his temper. When his father asks him to hammer the nails into the fence, one after the other, every time he got angry. Since the hammering was hard, he learned to control his anger. Once all nails were in, his father asked him to remove them every day he was not angry which taught him that nails put in in anger cause damage because the ones removed left a hole. He learned to be patient in controlling his anger.

Are you sure this is a Saki story? I have done quite a bit of searching and do not quite see him associated with it. I find the story, just not the author.
