Kriss' Shoes
Kriss said that she hated wearing high-heeled shoes but she wore them anyway. She wore them all the time and complained of their discomfort. This is ironic because she should have stopped wearing them because they hurt her feet but she continued wearing them anyway.
Maxon’s relationships with other girls
It is ironic that even though Maxon proclaimed his love for Lady America, he still had liaisons with all the other ladies in the selection. He should have picked her to be his wife instead of letting the competition to be queen among the young ladies to continue for a long time.
The selection
The selection is ironic because it gathers eligible women from the country of Illea for the crown prince to select a wife from. The crown prince should be able to get a wife for himself and not have a group of women to audition to be his queen for weeks.
The King’s treatment of his son
The king is malicious and hateful towards his son Maxon. Maxon’s actions always displease the king and he(the king) calls him out in front of everyone. This is ironic because the king should teach his son how to be king instead of quarreling with him every time a mistake is made.
Maxon and America’s meeting with the rebels
It is a situational irony that Maxon who is the crown prince of Illea and America who was destined to be the next queen of Illea had a secret meeting with the rebels who were causing havoc in the country. It is also ironic that the rebels had come to seek the support of America and Maxon.
