The Old Man in the Sea isn't very long. but it packs a powerful punch in the action department. Since the story of the fish is the main incident, as well as very detailed.............. I'll have to go with Manolin's selfless behavior and love for the old man, particularly when he brings him food. Santiago is proud, but he is also quickly withering away........ Manolin's parents force him to join a boat that is "luckier" because the family needs the money.............. none-the-less, Manolin, as young as he is, uses some of that money to feed his mentor. I just love his character because of who he is.
