How does the other fisherman's treatment of the boy contrast with the way Santiago treats him?

Santiago loves the boy. The boy is the only person who makes him feel like a fisherman, the only person that validates his former glory. SAntiago feels he is both a mentor and father figure of sorts to the boy. The other fishermen mock the boy for fishing with a decrepit old man who lives in the past.
