What is the similarity between the life of Hemingway and Santiago? In detail.

I believe we see Hemmingway in Satiago's character in a far different way than we might initially envision. In my opinion, Santiago's fisherman represented Hemmingway as a writer. At that time, he was experiencing writer's block, a period where he couldn't seem to do what he was meant to do, in much the same way as Santiago no longer experienced success fishing. During this time, Hemmingway saw himself  as a better fisherman than writer, and from there, Santiago was born.
