What does Agamemnon seek in the beginning of the story?

This is just after the Trojan War. He seeks to return home, to his kingdom and his wife, and to live out his life. Instead, he finds his death.

Upon his return home Agamemnon was killed by his wife Clytemnestra, or her lover, Aegisthus. In turn, Agamemnon’s son, Orestes, kills Aegisthus.
