Do you agree that Madame Loisel shows heroism in paying her dept? Support your opinion with examples

Both Mathilde and her husband go nearly broke trying to replace the lost necklace. Mathilde's determination to pay off her debt does show a heroism. She no longer longs for a life of riches. She understands that coveting things that she cannot have comes at a price. I think Mathilde becomes a little more humble and her husband supports his wife to the end.
