The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket

I have been asked to explain how this story is rife with dopplegangers and doubles.

While there are many repeated situations I presume dopplegangers and doubles is referring to characters. Too-Wit sees his reflection, Mr. Peterson and Dirk Peters have similar-sounding names, and Pym aspires to be more like Augustus. I realize these are all weak arguments. I'm stumped. Any guidance to the path will be greatly appreciated.
