Who has the copyright of "The Most Dangerous Games" by him?

I was wondering due to I want to make a film play and I know you have to have the copyright permission. So don't want to submit it to be produced and then get sued later. And I can't personal find it on my own

As far as I can tell this novel is listed in the Public Domain. I looked through several sources, so this information should be accurate. I don't know anything about fim rights, you would have to check on that.
