What might Zaroff mean when he reaching a level of perfection is boring

I believe you're questioning why Zaroff is bored when he meets a certain level of perfection? This would be because he's never satisfied, always desires another challenge, and always wants to push himself to another level. He isn't satisfied with what he can do...... he regularly needs more stimulation.
