Rainsford is initially quite impressed with Zaroff. He likes his expensive tastes and his extensive hunting trophies. The rift really begins when Zaroff finally clues in that Zroff hunts people. Rainsford's value system draws the line at hunting people. Zaroff is eager to have Rainsford join him and a greater rift ensues when Rainsford refuses. This is where we get the true man vs man conflict and the hunter becomes the hunted.

Thank you,bro.
