Rachel is tiny, dark haired, and a bit unconventional. She is not our typical Victorian woman. She is straightforward, thoughtful, and chooses her words (or silence) well.

Rosanna consistently strives to move around unnoticed. Before becoming Lady Verinder's housemaid, she was a thief, but she had also seen the error of her ways and spent time in a Reformatory before working for the family. She hasn't had Rachel's upbringing or advantages.
