"His" wishes? As far as we can tell, Mr. White presumably made two wishes. One wish was for two-hundred pounds, which he received. The other wish, which was made at the very end of the story, we can infer was to make the knocking stop..... to make what he believes is his resurrected son disappear. The fact that the knocking stops indicates that his wish has been granted. The second wish was Mrs. White's wish for the return of her son.
