Explain wether you think the events of the story prove the fakir's point that "fate ruled people's lives, and that those who interfered with it did so to their sorrow."

I don't believe on luck or curses, and thus, I do believe that our lives are fated. The story itself does support Fakir's point, as each of the three people who wished on the monkey's paw found sorrow as a result of their wishes.
