If you're talking about Philinte, Alceste occasionally dislikes his friend because he believes that although honesty is important to balance it out by showing good manners, and that using flattery will get you far more than being offensive.

Oronte on the other hand, was never really his friend, but he does try to take away his woman.......... reason enough for dislike!
