The author did not describe the wedding most likely because it was so ordinary. The ceremony also would have no bearing on Frances's feelings or actions. The focus of the section is Frances's notions about what she hoped would happen and how that compared to reality—her unrealistic hopes and dreams, not the actuality of a wedding ceremony.
