Why was Thomas glad to get to work in Chapter 11? What was the first job he tried? What did he think of it?? Why???

Thomas first worked as a slicer in the Blood House. Thomas does not like the job, especially the slaughtering of animals. As a result of watching Winston preparing a hog, he vows to never eat pork again.
