Why do you think Gally doesn't want Thomas to remember the real world?

Gally doesn't remember who Thomas is from the "real world" but the memories are not good. In fact, all his memories of the real world are horrible. Glade, remembers the Flare and how horrible conditions got. Gally would rather sacrifice himself to a Griever rather than return to the real world. He parts with a little advice to Thomas.
