What was the stuff that cured the people in the first maze runner?

What was the stuff that cured the people in the first maze runner (cured the black man who got stung)? I either misunderstood something in the scortch trials or they already have the cure for the flare... or is a greiver sting a diffrent flare disease?

What chapter is this referring to?

Im not sure what chapter it is in but the movie is called "maze runner the guide to the glade", and the guy who got stung is named alby. Than when he gets stung they send up 3 tubes of that stuff that cured the people that got stung.
