What did Minho suggest at the Gathering for Thomas? Why do you think he did this?

Minho says he’s the only one who was there. He saw what Thomas did. He nominates Thomas to replace him as Keeper of the Runners. I think he did this to exhibit his trust and faith in Thomas, and to acknowledge that Thomas might be able to accomplish what they themselves haven't yet been able to do.
