Describe Chuck and Thomas' relationship.

Chuck and Thomas' relationship is important because although Chuck is initially set as Thomas' guide, it is Chuck, not Thomas, who needs the guidance. Over time, Thomas comes to see Chuck as a younger brother.... he looks out for him.... protects him. He takes Chuck under his wing, and as he attains experience, he uses it to guide the innocent young man who cannot quite make it on his own. In the end, Chuck gives up his own life to save Thomas.... the ultimate sacrifice.
