What is Prufrock's "overwhelming question" (lines 10-93)

It would seem that Prufrock's "overwhelming question" has something to do with a marriage proposal or at the very least questioning a woman's love for him. Much of the poem deals with Prufrock’s inability to communicate his feelings to this woman as well as reconcile his own insecurities about love and the opposite sex.
