Jovial means happy or in good mood. None of these choices really work. I would not answer question five with jovial but if you need the best answer to this, I might consider:

“After that, there was a long pause, a breathless pause, until Mr. Summers, holding his slip of paper in the air, said, ’All right, fellows.’”
