The Little Prince

The negative symbol of the Baobab or Tree of Life

Why has the author taken a positive symbol in African culture like the baobab tree, (The Tree of Life) and represented it as something evil in another culture, in a children's novel? It is ironic that this is exactly what was done in Germany during the time he was writing this novella. Did the author not see the irony?

It is generally believed that the Baobabs in the novel, The Little Prince, are a metaphor for Nazism..... a warning that sometimes it is difficult to tell the difference between the good and the bad. Why the author used this specific example in his metaphor is difficult to determine.
