Abigail's "problems" would likely be considered far worse than those faced by the wives of future presidents. She was separated from her husband for long, extensive periods of time. She was responsible for the home, the children, and the farm. Mrs. Adam's was surrounded by war, an epidemic, and changing times.... and she did it alone, with the help of her children. Abigail Adams was a woman of great strength and fortitude.
