Hassan is Amir's kite runner. The memory of Hassan haunts Amir for the rest of his life. Hassan's role as Kite Runner is an integral part of Amir's childhood innocence and loss of childhood innocence. By the end of the book, Amir kite runs for Hassan's son which means a lot.
