What are some examples of forgiveness in the novel?

Amir, the main character, is on a journey to forgive himself for his betrayal of Hassan throughout the whole story.

I think deep down Amir never forgave himself for what he had done and what he had allowed to happen. So throughout the novel he is tryng to appease his guilt by taking care of Hassans kid as if it were his own.
