Is the movie showing one is able to go beyond one's limitations?

i wanted to know if this film shows one is able to go beyond one's selfishness or limitations.. thank you

I think the movie reflects the essential themes of the book. Amir is able to finally grow out of his selfishness: he is able to find a "way to be good again." Amir travels back to Afghanistan to bring back Sohrab, Hassan's son, to America. Although Amir is in much danger returning to Afghanistan, he needs to find Sohrab as well as his own redemption.
