Amir's return to his homeland is fraught with changes and danger. He doesn't know this world... he's a fish out of water. None-the-less, as readers.... we're happy he's there, proud he's taking things in hand, rather than running away. For the first time, we know that Amir is going to carry something through. This puts him in a positive light.
