Once in America, Amir was able to bury his memories, although they were never buried so deep that he could live with them. For Baba, America was a place to mourn the memories of home and things he'd left behind. He'd lost everything, and yet, he went on and did the things that needed to be done. Baba gained strength from the man he used to be....
