Amir is flying a kite in America with Sohrab, Hassan's son. Things have finally come full circle. As Amir once ran with Hassan as a child with their kite in the air, Amir now runs with Sohrab. For Amir, there is a finally a sense of redemption for his sins against Hassan. Amir now runs for Sohrab and Hassan once ran for him: Now it is Amir's turn to serve. As Amir runs through the wind, he can feel years of guilt melt away. Amir can hear Hassan's voice in his head proclaiming, "For you a thousand times over."'
