The author's message about culture is that culture is a very valued thing. It's important and it sometimes can confuse us but it makes up a little bit of who we are inside. It is what teaches us things we must and must hold close, what is valued and what is feared. It shows us life from a certain point of veiw and that is the first thing point of view we see. It gives us a certain understanding of life and helps us grow. Culture is black and white and everything in between. It leads us to who we are and tells us what we should be. It is not demanded that we follow culture; it is expected, and some either find that a bad thing or a good one.
